Comments on: "Updating SharePoint Managed Metadata Term hidden Value after Renaming Term in Managed Metadata" (5)

  1. Hello Prashob,

    This solution only works if user have permission in SharePoint Server because we need to run the script in PowerShell. Is any way a power user or user who have only contribute permission resolve the issue without help of SharePoint administrator? . Pleas suggest

    • Hi Jullas,

      Please create a Web Part or Item Updated Event Receiver and use the same code.
      Web part : You can provide a Link\Button to Users which will execute this code and update the taxonomy hidden value.
      or else create a item updated event which will run when user rename or edit the managed meta data.

      Cheers !

    First run a full manual sync, then reset up the database triggers.

    “Enter Url of site collection”
    $url = Read-Host

    $site=Get-SPSite $url
    [Microsoft.SharePoint.Taxonomy.TaxonomySession]::SyncHiddenList($site)

    $tax = Get-SPTaxonomySession -Site $url
    $ts = $tax.TermStores[0]
    $ts.UpdateUsedTermsOnSite($site)
    $site.dispose()
